What is an implant?

A dental implant acts as an artificial root which is placed into the jawbone by the dentist. This then supports tooth replacements i.e.. crowns and bridges. Implants are ideal when one or several teeth are missing.

Advantages of Implants

  • Dental implants act like your natural tooth root-you do not feel the difference.
  • Implants can last a lifetime with proper care and hygiene.
  • Implants are actually minimally invasive.
  • Implants maintain natural bone and minimise further bone loss due to bone stimulation.

Here at Total Dental, we offer 2 implant systems:

Option 1:

Osteocare implants, placed by Mr. O’Leary under local anaesthetic in the surgery. There is a further fee for placing the crown, which varies depending on the case.

Option 2:

Nobel bio-care implants, placed by Professor Sleeman (Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon) in the Cork University Dental School & Hospital. The implant crown is then placed by Mr. O’Leary.

If you are missing one or several teeth, you can still have the perfect smile!
